The one day course will take place on the farm and be led by Pete Ritchie, head grower and owner of Whitmuir Organic Farm. As well as covering the principles which underpin organic growing systems - working with nature, building soil fertility, designing rotations and integrated planting - we will be focussing on the challenges organic growers face. We will be covering crop and variety selection, propagation and planting, crop protection and pest and disease control.
There will be formal inputs along with tours of different growing areas on the farm.
