Godminster were certified organic in 1999, they began as a simple dairy and over the years have developed into so much more. They now produce, not only a huge selection of cheddar cheese, but their own unique ‘vintage’ range of vodka, champagne, chutney and crackers. They pride themselves in being completely self sufficient, getting the produce they need from the Godminster farm itself, very rarely having to buy in goods. Even the feed given to the cattle is made on the farm. Their vintage range is made with the finest ingredients found on the Godminster farm, they use traditional methods to create unconventional, unique produce. A fine example of which would be their cucumber vodka and their horseradish vodka. Their cheese is considered to be redefining the way in which cheddar is supposed to taste, left for 12 months to mature, enabling full flavoured cheese, that isn’t a crumbly as conventional farmhouse cheddar. Within each of the products, whether it’s cheese or alcohol, they have taken standard products and created their own unique ways in which to make them, creating new and thoroughly delicious products.
