Beef Braising Steak (approx. 500g)
Quick Overview
Beef Braising Steak is generally best suited to slow cooking. For this reason it's fantastic in stews, casseroles and any recipes with a substantial cooking time. Once cooked it become tender and full of flavour.
Beef Braising Steak is taken from the shoulder of a cow. It is lean, flavoursome cut of meat that is relatively easy to cook. By cooking it slowly the braising steak becomes a tender cut of meat that compliments any meal.
In order to add as much flavour as possible to the meat follow these basic cooking instructions. Put the pan onto a high heat, season the braising steak and once the pan has reached it’s temperature add the steak. Add some liquid to the pan, this can be stock, wine or simple plain water depending on preference. This should be approximately half the volume of the meat. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and leave to simmer.
Cooking times can vary depending on the cut of meat. To calculate the exact time, times the weight of the meat by 10.
