At Whitmuir the Organic Place,
we sell our own organic beef, pork, lamb and mutton AND we grow and sell our own organic vegetable and soft fruits, with a plentiful supply of our own organic eggs.
We can help you with your weekly messages as we stock over 2,000 lines of organic produce including:

and from time to time we also take a walk on the wild side!
Wherever there is a Fairtrade option, we stock it - from coffee and tea to bananas and olive oil. We offer discounts on cases of your favourite staples and can supply trays of apples in season as well as sacks of flour, cereals or potatoes.

That means we can provide a personal service - whether a rack of pork, pigs cheeks, beef strips for stroganoff or mince for your dog. Everything is butchered here in our on-farm butchery - so if you want to know where your meat comes from, just ask.
We are also now working with the kitchen to produce a range of cooked meats, our own haggis, our own steak pies and a range of ready meals - all made right here.

Whitmuir organic fruit and vegetables
We grow about 30 different vegetables here as well as strawberries and other soft fruit. As we can't grow enough for all our customers, we also buy in from organic farms in Fife and East Lothian. We work with Organic North to source organic fruit and vegetables which are not grown in Scotland, from England and even further south.
Whitmuir Organic Chickens and Turkeys
We supply organic free range chickens from Grierson's organic family farm near Perth. They are delivered weekly.
Our turkeys for Christmas are now here - under the brooder until July and then you can come an inspect them. Adoption forms with a £15 deposit towards bed and board are available in the shop.

Our birds are a heritage breed, single
breasted and slow growing. They will spend the next six months ranging on clover pastures (and anywhere else they can escape to) and they will teach you how to compulsively gobble to them. As most turkeys never see the light of day, this is a pretty good life for a turkey. We have a mixture of Norfolk Blacks and Bronzes, Bourbon Reds, Slate Blues and a couple of Pied Crollwitzers (just for fun!).
Whitmuir Organic Dairy Products
We supply milk and cream from Clyde Organics and ice cream from Cream O Galloway. Enjoy cheese and yoghurt from Locharthur near Dumfries, cheese from Connage dairy near Inverness and by special request from Godminster in Somerset.
Wild fish, venison, rabbit and pheasant
Some products are wild rather than organic - sustainable fish from Fish Forever, local venison, rabbit and pheasant when available.
Your weekly shop, organic wines, beauty and household products
We also stock organic bread and oatcakes, local honey, home made cakes. Working with Vintage Roots we source some of the best and the most affordable organic and biodynamic wines in the world.

Organic baking
We get a lot of help from Andrew Whitley, leader of the
real bread campaign - so we stock an extensive range of flours (including Gluten Free options, splet, kamut etc)
Organic Household Cleaning Products
As well as food, we have a great range of organic products for cleaning you and your home without polluting your environment. We have most things that Ecover do, including refils, plus the Method range. Lots of e-cloths, mops and dusters.
Organic cosmetics and body care
We are now a Dr Hauschka GOLD STOCKIST - we have everything. Astrid and Cathy have been trained and the rest of us are happy and enthusiastic amateurs. We stock the Speick mens range, the Weleda range and a whole host of Faith in Nature shampoos and soaps. Incognito spray and soap to deter midgies.
We also happily host a range of Carol McMillan's soaps, creams, elixir, balms, potions and baby creams. All made with the completely natural ingredients and with the help of the cashmere goats who are milked 4 times a day.
Organic Cotton Baby Clothing
We also stock a range of baby clothes in organic cotton - not just because they are cute but because growing non-organic cotton still often involves children spraying lethal pesticides without protective clothing.
Plants and Seeds
We stock a lovely range of plants supplied by Kevock Plants and a range of organic seeds supplied by Tamar Organics. The lovely Phil is sourcing us some green books- so watch the shelves. Logs also for sale.
